SOUS CHEF

THE CYCLIST - BALHAM

Salary: £28,000 per annum

Urban Pubs & Bars is looking for an experienced and creative Sous Chef for their newest site, The Cyclist - a modern British pub in the heart of Balham.

Located next to Balham station, the site will be completely refurbished before opening, and will comprise of a main bar area with a small restaurant area to the rear. 

We're looking for a creative, experienced Sous Chef; someone who is passionate about fresh seasonal produce, has a track record of delivering exceptional food in a busy kitchen environment, and is able to assist our Head Chef in leading the brigade.

THE GATEHOUSE - HIGHGATE

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Urban Pubs & Bars is looking for an experienced and creative Sous Chef to join their team at The Gatehouse - an independent local pub, restaurant and beer garden, located in the picturesque heart of Highgate Village. 

On the menu our focus is delicious seasonal pub food with a strong Spanish influence, sourced from the finest producers and suppliers. Every Sunday we serve up the best roasts in Highgate, plus live jazz sessions in the evening.

We're looking for a creative, experienced Sous Chef; someone who is passionate about fresh seasonal produce, has a track record of delivering exceptional food in a busy kitchen environment, and is able to assist our Head Chef in leading the brigade.

HEAD PIZZA CHEF

WELL STREET PIZZA PECKHAM

Salary: £28,700 per annum

Following the success of Well Street Pizza in Hackney, Urban Pubs & Bars is pleased to announce its South London sister venue, Well Street Pizza Peckham.

We're looking for an experienced pizza Head Chef to lead our back of house team, creating authentic Neapolitan pizza, pasta, salads and sandwiches.

The skills and experience we're looking for...

  • Passionate about pizza

  • A foodie - a lover and aficionado of all things edible!

  • A positive 'Yes!' kind of person

  • A fun, team player AND hard worker

  • An experienced pizza maker (making dough, spreading dough etc.)

  • An experienced and confident leader. You'll be managing a close knit team, so need to be efficient, organised, and most of all inspiring!

  • Proficient in all aspects of kitchen management, including administration, stock control and supplier liaison.

  • A winner! We want a Head Chef who leads from the front, develops their team and is motivated and passionate about this brilliant industry.

Ideally you will have experience with...

A foodie favourite in the heart of the Kensal Rise community, The Whippet is an independent local bar and bistro with a focus on delivering quality seasonal food and drink from the best suppliers and producers, and creating truly memorable customer experiences.

We're looking for a creative, experienced Chef de Partie; someone who is passionate about fresh seasonal produce, has a track record of delivering exceptional food in a busy kitchen environment, and is able to assist our Head Chef and Sous Chef in leading a section. We are looking for an individual wanting to learn from a talented chef with a wealth of experience and guide them onto the next level in their career.

GENERAL MANAGER

LORD WARGRAVE - MARYLEBONE

Salary: £38K achievable + bonus scheme

General Manager for modern British pub with in-house smoker and 250 different whiskeys.

Urban Pubs and Bars is a multi-faceted company that currently operates 20 sites across London. These range from classic gastropubs, fine dining tapas restaurants and huge table-tennis venues. We are looking for a new General Manager to join the team to run one of our original sites.

The Lord Wargrave is on Brendon Street in Marylebone between Marble Arch and Baker Street tube stations. We smoke all our meat in-house and have over 250 different whiskeys. We also have a great selection of rotating cask ales, keg beers and our Sunday roasts are second to none.

The site already has an established reputation in the area and as General Manager you will be expected to build on this by developing the team and stamping your own mark on a fantastic site.

What we’re looking for:

  • A charismatic General Manager who is confident managing and inspiring a large team. They should be operationally minded and examine their business in detail.

  • An entrepreneur! As a small but growing company we want General Managers to treat their businesses as if it is their own. They should take ownership of both successes and failures and constantly be looking for opportunities.

  • A host! You should lead from the front and understand that offering great service is the key to developing your site.

  • A foodie! We expect our General Managers to work closely with the Head Chef to develop the menu so they are delivering a consistent and quality food offer.
